Pork N’ Bands is an annual community music festival hosted by the Fruited Plain Cafe in Sioux Center, Iowa. I was commissioned to create a poster to promote the event, as well as to be screen-printed and sold during the festival.

Because the logo (the pig on the guitar) and overall theme of the event was heavily inspired by Woodstock, I wanted the poster to reflect the style of 70’s concert posters; featuring expressive and warped typography, as well as visual elements that carry the eye across the page. Because the poster was to be screen printed, I utilized one color so that the poster could be mass produced during the concert.

When it comes to my design process, I aspire for each design to be it’s own work of art. Something that pulls viewers and stands out, and with concert posters in particular, something that viewers will want to collect and hang on their walls.
